Most of us in the West can picture the tumbleweed, flying across the road at great speeds, getting caught under our cars, in our yards, and across the middle of the hiking trail. But have you ever stopped to think about the tumbleweed’s journey? Well, this sweet children’s book will get you thinking! Mabel, the little tumbleweed, loves to travel (“Sure, she was a weed, but she was free”) and feels bad for all the other plants that are stuck in the ground. When she gets stuck herself, she contemplates the joy of moving fast and slow. Wonderfully illustrated and with a great message, this book should be favorite of kids young and old.
